Jim and Deb Tanasse Build Their Legacy Around Community

Deb and Jim Tanasse

Deb and Jim Tanasse live out their passion for supporting their community in many ways.

Jim and Deb Tanasse have called South King County their community for much of their nearly 40 years of marriage. They raised their four kids in the Covington area and received care at nearby a MultiCare program or foundation family practices.

Community, however, has always meant more to them than geography.

“One of our passions in community is the crossroads of health, education, welfare and civic involvement,” Jim shares, “and being connected across those components to try and make an impact.”

The couple lives out that passion together. Jim joined the a MultiCare program or foundation South King Health Foundation board in 2015. Both he and Deb have supported a MultiCare program or foundation Auburn Medical Center and regularly attend a MultiCare program or foundation Foundations events, giving generously to causes like behavioral health.

As a self-described “connector,” Jim loves inviting others to give back. “I just bring them to the party,” he says.

It’s also important to the Tanasses that their care for their community lives on.

“We’re still passionate about these things,” Deb shares. “We want that part of us to continue to help somebody.”

Deb and Jim recently went through Thompson & Associates’ values-based estate planning process. The consult visit helped them incorporate their generosity and community-mindedness into their will.

“This process is a life-giving thing,” Jim shares.

“There’s a great deal of comfort and security that comes from that.”
